Rising prices are likely to bring the
city to life again and that would to
tallr disrupt the present political
setup.
The situation Is a bit peculiar.
Back In the '80s and '80s. Castle
was a booming mining camp. The
depression of 1893 and the demone
tization of sliver started a decline.
But higher allvm prloea are expect
ed to cause a revival of mining op
erations and the town may resume
some of Its former activity.
And, as has been said, that would
disrupt tha political situation.
Tou see, under the psiultar politi
cal situation Mayor Joe Mortlno and
ex-Mayor Joe Klpp each control the
name number of votes. 80 they've
reached an agreement. Last year Klpp
held the office as mayor, this year It
was Martlno's trim, snd next year
Klpp is supposed to take over the
office again, etc.
Kew voters would upset this bal
ance of power.
Mayor Msrtlno and ex-Mayor Kipp
are the only residents.
