4-2 beating to avenge a Rogue vic
tory at the start of the season,
one of only two defeats suffered
by the Coqullle nine In 25 gamea.
. Next Sunday at the fairgrounds
here the Rogues will get another
crack at the Loggers however, and
they swear that the breaks can t
alw&ya be agalnat them. One In
stance of the way the wind blew
yesterday came In the alxth, with
the score tied at 2-all.

The Rogues turned In one of the
greatest games of their careers, and
the contest ws said to be the beat
and fastest ever held In the coast

hour and 29 minutes. When the
game started, there was a sparse,
and not too enthusiastic crowd. As
the battle progressed, word leaked
out that an unusual ball game waa
going on and before the end of the
fifth, the park was Jammed. Many
will come to Medlord Sunday In the
hopes of seeing another such fracas.

soft-ball playoff at Belllngham for
the past aeveral weeks, came down
for the game, meeting the Medford
squad at the Junction Just south
of Roseburg, and both played nice
fames. They will be here tor the
Coqullle Invasion Sunday.

CLEVELAND, Aug. 8. (AP) teve
O'Neill, a member of Cleveland's only
world championship bnseball team,
today tackled the Job of trying to
bring the fifth-place Indians out of a
slump.

Dr. Louis F. LeFevre, graduate man
ager of athletics at St. Mary's college
for 14 years, today submitted his res
ignation to the board of athletic con
trol. Resignation of Dr. LeFVvre's assist
ant. Bob Mr Andrews, also was an
nounced by the college authorities.

thrilling exhibition of bronco-busting.

eral rodeo exhibits, the crowd re
tired to the Brown dnnre pavilion,
where the cowboys were all forced
to take off their chaps and spurs
before being allowed on the floor.
The festivities lasted until midnight.
The Brown pavilion Is becoming In
creasingly populer as a center ot

the heat for a pair of wins, 10 to 0

son, 73. was found dead In his garage
here late Saturday, a bullet hole
through his head and a revolver by
his side. District Attorney w. H
Trlndle and Coroner L. E. Barrlclc
agreed he hud shot himself.
Written on sn envelope found near
tha body were the words, "leaving
3 p. m., August 2." Snelson was re
ported to have been despondent since
the death of his wife a year ago.
He Is survived by a daughter here,
snd a son, Ira Snelson of Seattle.
