BERLIN, July is (AP) Gen. Her
mann WUhelm Ooerlng. minister of
aviation and commander of Ger
many's aecrei police, today Issued
an order to criminal prosecution
authorities to enforce strictly the
existing decrees against "political
Catholicism."
Goerlng said this Catholicism "must
be overcome by positive national so
cialism." Foreshadowing the end of all Cath
olic youth organizations, he stressed
the Important task which the Hitler
youth movement faces In the present
clash between the philosophies ol
life.
Today's decree said:
"The minister emphatically de
mands that all authorities promote
the Hitler youth organizations." It
continued with a claim that Goerlng,
now as before, rejects the Idea of a
cultural fight against the Roman
Catholic church, but said "all means
will be Invoked against those Catho
lic priests who misuse their religious
authority."
The order follows shortly after a
bitter protest by the Catholic church
against the sterilization law, the re
striction of Catholic youth organiza
tions, and the use of Rosenberg's
paganletlo book "The Mystery of the
Twentieth Century," as often causing ,
a violation of the concordat with the
Vatican.
Catholic priest who are religious
teachers will be tolerated In the fu
ture, under the terms of the order,
only If they change Into nazl propagandists.
When the Meed ford Rogues face
the Broadway Colored Clowns, tour
ing professional baseball team at the
fairgrounds Sunday, Manager "Roos
ter Hoffard of the Rogues may send
Lea Wolfe, Texan wrestler, onto the
mound for several Innings. Just what
will happen when a Texan, with all
the traditional dislike of the colored
race, meets a team composed of color
ed stars, Is highly Interesting.
Wolfe has Intimated that he won't
try to nit any of the Clown heads,
always providing that the Clowns
exhibit the proper subservience.
Whether the Broadway lads are will
ing to do this or not remains to be
seen.
Although the Clowns, have won
nearly every start so far this yew,
Hoffard thinks that hia bunch, who
have not lost a single exhibition game
so far this year, will win handily.
He bases his thought on the fact that
he has Bauman, star pitcher, to do
the mound work, and Wolfe to take
over the duties at any time.
He haa not yet announced his line
up, but stated that It wouud be
about the same as last week when
the locals walloped Ashland.
