UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio, July 17.
( AP ) Ten persons were Injured
when the Liberty Limited of the
Pennsylvania railroad hit a truck,
derailed and tore up track for three
blocks here early today.
Three of the Injured were reported
to be In a serious condition.
The locomotive sheared off the
platform of a freight station and
wrecked several freight cars before It
overturned.

Leslie Peyton, field representative
of the federal housing administra
tion for southern and eastern Ore
gon, was the main speaker at last
night's meeting of the Medford Ac
tive club.
His subject was the housing ad
ministration, which he said was Im
portant "because the idea of It all Is
to create something that the coun
try has not already had. It is a re
covery act to put savings Into circu
lation." Mr. Peyton stated that two types
of loans are available under the
housing administration : first, the
modernization loan that can be used
on any type of property, and second,
loans for residences only, In urban
district or Just outside.
"The Idea in forming the hotu'ng
administration was principally to
correct the present state of condi
tions wherein most people i: . a
1035 car, a 1900 home, and a 1910
garden and conveniences." Mr. Pey
ton declared.
Mr. Peyton stated that the purpose
of the loan system is to make the
home more attractive and conditions
more favorable, consequently pro
moting more satisfied family rela
tions. He cited statistics In Chicago that
showed that in 1920 there were 43.

special election on the measure
Two years ago a similar law was
overwhelmingly repealed by the
voters.
Returns from 1.852 of the state's
3,242 precinct showed for Mon
day's election a total of W.a-U
votes In favor of the law, 68.757
against It.
