ROGUE BAT SPREE
DEFEATS ASHLAND
-UTHIANS 14T05
Tin Medford Rogues did It yes
terday. They walloped the Asblsna
Llthlana it the fairgrounds here
14-6 by playing errorless ball, and
collecting 31 hlU off "Chief' Mc
Lean of Ashland.
To add salt to the Ashland
wounds, the victory was credited
to Bauman, Medford twlrler who
signed with Ashland under John
MUJus earlier In the season, and
was given his release by MUJus
when thst gentleman resigned as
manager a few weeks ago. Medford
snapped him up, and his eligibility
to play with the locals has been
bone of contention with Ashland
since.
"Hoosler" Hoffard, player-manager
who Is leading the league In hit
ting, got two hits out of four trips
to the platter, a record surpassed
by the performsnce of Courtney,
who collected four blows from six
trips.
Les Wolfe, hsndsome wrestler who
pitched basebsll for some time In
Texas, hurled the last Inning for
Medford. Two men popped out, and
the third one fouled out to retire
the side, giving Wolfs an Impres
sive rating on paper.
The victory eliminated the Ash
land nine from any chance at the
league pennant, the locals having
been ousted from sny show long
ago.
The Rogues meet the Detroit
Colored Clowns at the fairgrounds
next Sunday.
