Mrs. L. L. Yancey and son Bob end
Keth Hooker all of Palo Alto, Calif.,
have arrived to spend their vacation
and are occupying the Yancey's cot
tage they bought of 8. W. Hutchin
son last fall. They are planning some
Improvements for the cottage while
here. After two weeks Mr. Yancey and
Keth will return to Palo Alto but
Mrs. Yancey and Bob will spend the
entire summer here.
Miss Laura belle LaDleu Is home
again after spending two weeks In
Oakland visiting friends and rela
tives. Mrs. Mai Tucker Is 111 with a se
vere cold.
Trail Extension unit met at the
picnic grounds on Elk creek for an
all day meeting June 20. There were
19 members present and b visitors.
Some enjoyed swimming In the Old
Swimming pool. Mrs. Alice Ragsdale
was elected chairman for the next
year to fill the vacaney made by Mrs.
Irma Cushman resigning. The work
program for the next year was plan
ned. Mrs. Mack leading the dlscus-
rlon. A number of members will at
tend the camp for county unit mem
bers at Lake of the Woods July 22 to
26.
The unit held an alt day meeting
at Mrs. Francis Ash's June 25 and
with assistance of Mrs. Smith several
guide patterns were made and check
ed. The unit will not meet again until
September. At the picnic they open
ed the wish basket and found they
had $5 to add to the treasury.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Young of
Long Beach, Calif., are home again
to spend their vacation at Sunset on
the Rogue.

Merlin Dowe of Medford called to see
Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hutchinson June
28 on their return from Crater lake. '
Mr. and Mrs. Sterns lived near
Medford some 17 years ago then went
to Minnesota to live but have sold
out there and are having a lovely trip
touring this summer having visited
in Canada as well as In several states.
Their many friends are hoping they
will locate In Jackson county again.
