spent five days here recently, paint
ing views of the lake and Mt. Mc
Laughlin In oil colors. The large
scenes are four by six feet and are
to be used at highway Junctions for
advertising purpose. She 1 very en
thuiast!c about the scenic beauty at
the lake. Beside the large painting,
she did several small pen and Ink
sketches. Charles Voorhles, another
Medford artlt, was also a recent vis
itor at the lake.
Many parent of Boy Scouts
brought their children up on Sunday
for a two week' outing at Camp Mc
Laughlin. One of the largest parties .it the
lake last Saturday and Sunday In
cluded the Robert Norrts, A. T. West.
K. W. Kendrlck, Al Hauk. Don New
bury and Olen Jackson families. They
enjoyed dancing on Saturday even
ing and boating and swimming on
Sunday.

Miss Lucille Coy Is spending a two
weeks' vacation with her sister, Mrs.
Wallace Dlnsmore, of Eureka, Cal.
Elmer and Earl Harntsh are both
driving derrick this week. Elmer for
Joe Dugan of Big Sticky lane and
Earl for Fred Dutton.
Mr. and Mrs. Robt. LaRocque drove
to Klamath Falls June 33 to visit Mr.
Ford, who Is 111.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Damon of Lake
Creek were dinner guests Sunday of
Mr, and Mrs. Frank Brown June 23.
In the afternoon they all attended
the baseball game at Medford.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ah h pole and Mr.
and Mrs. Tod Seaman spent last Sun
day picnicking and fishing on the
south fork of Rogue river. Roy says
they caught enough fish to make the
frying pan smell fishy.

Word has been received In Eagle
Point of an accident In which Lloyd
Stanley was badly Injured last week.
Mr. Stanley has been employed on the
Ed Barron ranch south of Ashland
for some time and ws running a
mower when the team on another
mower In the rear became frightened,
running Into the one being driven
by Mr. Stanley, knocking him to the
ground and running over him. He
was badly bruised and cut up by the
mower. He was taken to the Com
munity hospital In Ashland. It has
not been learned at this writing Just
how he Is getting along, but all are
hoping he soon will be up and around
again.
Mr. and Mrs. John Rader are spend
ing a few days at the Horve Stanley
home of Antelope.
Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Brophy and
daughter, Elaine, were calling on
frlenda in Eagle Point Tuesday.
Mrs. R. A. Smith and Mrs. Mary
Taylor spent Wednesday with Mrs.
Tom Coy.
Mrs. Frank Stead man, formerly of
Jacksonville, and dughter, Irma, of
Anaheim, Cal., arrived In Eagle Point
June 26 for a week's visit with Mrs.

Eagle Point of the death, by drown
ing in tne Sacramento river, of Don
ald Whetstone, formerly a local boy.
