Oregon liquor control commission.
yesterday declared that a profit of
$1,553,997 had been netted during the
first 13 months that sale of liquor
were legalized In thU state.
A total of $1,152,947 already has
been allocated for unemployment re
lief, leaving a balance of $401,050.
Three new state liquor store were
opened recently In Portland.

for $210,263 of the profit.

THE GRANGE
Third of the Orange program rail tea
was held at Jacksonville Orange haW
laat Friday night when Talent Grange
put on the program for the lecture
hour.
The program consisted of four num
ber by their four-piece orchestra, ft
pantomime play, a folk dance, a read
ing and tableau on "Flag Day." an
address, baplpe music and plsno duet.
The following were present frost
each Orange: Bellvlew, 18; Eagle
Point, 11; Roxy Ann, 6; Phoenix, 37;
Central Point, 18; Talent. 28; Jack
sonville, 47.
Averse attendance for the three
meetings was computed a follows;
Jacksonville. 47 per cent; Phoenix, 44
per cent; Talent, 43 per cent; Cen
tral Point, 35 per cent; Bellvlew, 94
per cent; Eagle Point. 10 per cent;
Roxy Ann, 9 per cent. Percentage of
the last two Orange Is for thl meet
ing only. It ha been lmooslble for
theae two to enter the previous meet
ing. Next meeting of the group will be
at Belvlew Orange, July 2, with Jack
sonville Orange putting on the pro
gram. "Go to Church Sunday" will be
observed Sunday, June 28, at Aah
land park by all Oranges of Jack
son county, and pun are to make
this the biggest and best of the pro
gram thus far held.
Plans for "Go to Church Sunday"
are being made by a few of the of
ficers of the Pomona Orange, pri
marily Mrs. Susie Maust, Pomona lec
turer; Mrs. H. Conger, home econom
ic chairman, and Geo. Andrews, mas
ter. Th plans for the meeting follows
A basket dinner, served In the upper
park at Ashland at 1 o'clock, and
church semoa at 3, at the band
stand. Rev. Millard will bring the
message, his theme being "Oolng On."
Special music will be furnished.
Thl meeting 1 not only for mem
bers of Pomona Orange, but for all
Orange members. The time will en
able any wishing to attend the pro
gram to attend their own church
service first, and then motor to Ash
land. Regarding the lunch, the Pomona
H. E. C. chairman wishes all Oranges
attending to bring enough basket
lunch, consisting of sandwiches, sal
ad, hot dishes (vegetable or meat),
cake, lee cream and coffee cream for
their own Orange and a little extra
for gueftt. At the picnic ground the
content of basket will be placed
kupon table and all will enjoy the
dinner together.

calls attention of all Orange women
to the meetings to be held at the
home of Mrs. Wm. A. Brlcker. Wed
nesday of this week. Luncheon will
