funeral service at the church here for
Mr. Adams. June 11. Mr. Adams and
family lived here several years ago.

Mrs. Mary Warner hed a pleasant
visit recently with a nephew from
the state of Georgia, whom she had
not seen since he was a small bDy.
He la now a minister of the gospel,

on his aunt enroute there.

la working on a survey of the Lake
of the Wooda-Klamath Falls high
way, with a view toward construct
ing a cut-off which will save ap
proximately 10 miles between those
two points. Considerable work Is
being done on the various roads
around the lake, the work being
done by the Rogue River CCO men.

at Oregon State college for the paat
year showed a 27 per cent gain over
that of the year previous, the final
report of the registrar, E. B. Lemon,
reveals. The cumulative total of full
time students lor the year reached
2832, as compared with 2227 last
year.
Short courses brought 338 more to
the campus and there were 25 per
sona registered as auditors. The sum
mer session last year enrolled 22,
as compared with 306 the year pre
vious, making a grand total of adults
in some branch of regular instruc
tion on the campus 3515, compared
with 2665 last year. Tills Is an In
crease of more than 38 per cent in
complete yearly totals.
Engineering was the largest acnooi
in point of enrollment by a con
siderable majority, home economics
being second. Very little difference
in enrollment was shown among
agriculture, education, forestry, sci
ence and secretarial science. Phar
macy Is now the smallest school.

In lower division work or freshman
and sophomore years without choos
ing their major also showed a sub
stantial Increase.

izing the use of the Portland armory
to house arrested pickets end declar
ing "all resources of the state" will
be utilized in handling the situation.
One hundred and sixty men had
been arrested by Sheriff Martin T.
Pratt and his deputies this afternoon,
all of whom the district attorney has
announced will be charged with dis
orderly conduct. Most of the men
were arrested at the Bridal Veil mill
on the Columbia river east of here.
As fast as the deputies loaded the
men into cars, new pickets were sent
out from Portland by union offlclels
who have announced test cases will
be held.
