studied five years In Europe with

Another chapter was thereby added
to the history of dlatrlct conven
tion activities, which are Important
to the order. A large number ot
delegates from the camps In the dis
trict, Including 25 from Mistletoe
camp. Medford. were In attendance.
Grants Pasa was selected for the
next meeting place, whore the fol
lowing officers were elected to pre
side: district oracle. Betty Brace.
Grants Fnw vice oracle, Alice Tur
ner, Ashland; secretary and treas
urer, Eva Webb, Grants Pass; chan
cellor. Mildred Snndera, Bend.
A large class of candidates were
Initiated, seven of whom belong to

the formal entry march for which
they scored 100 per cent. The local
camp also put on the memorial
service for departed members. This
feature woa highly credited as well.
Liberty camp of Bend, presented
all past oracles present with loveiy
floral corsages. Bend camp also pre
sented lour of their members with
veteran Jewels, rewarded for 3ft or
more years of continuous member
ship. In the competitive drill work
Bend cntrp won first prim. Klam
ath Palls, second, while Ashland and
Medford tied for third.
At the close of the aeaslon. Liberty
camp of Bend sorved the visitors
refreshments at midnight, which
were enjoyed by all present. .
Medford camp plans to present
Its drill at the next open meeting
and social. Thursday evening, June
ao, at the K. of P. hall.

Her Summer Lodge
Mrs. Corbln Edgell Is a guest this
week end of Mrs. C N. Black of San
Francisco, at the letter's attractive
summer lodge on Rogue river.
Mrs. Black, whose husband, the late
"Cap" Black, passed sway several
weeks ago, returned to Medford Fri
day from her home In San Francisco,
with Mrs. Edgell, who had been her
guest there for several days.
Mrs. Black will spend the summer
at her river lodge.
Brewers Attend
Son's Graduation
Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Brewer and
daughter, Barbara, returned Friday
from San Francisco and the bay re
gion, having gone south to sttend
the commencement exercises 6f Menlo
school at Menlo Park. Cal., where
their son, Chauncey, was graduated
Thursday afternoon.
Chauncey returned to Medford with
his parents to spend a part of the
summer vactftlon here.
Mrs. Bertha Mason
Is Guest In Medford
Mrs. Bertha Mason of Los Ang
eles, Calif., arrived In Medford on
Thursday to be the guest of her
daughter. Miss Florence Mason, and
Miss Mary Foster. The latter has
Just completed a year as Instructor
at the (Valley School, and within a
week the trio will leave for an ex
tended motor trip through the east
ern states.

Annual Meeting Thursday
The annual meeting of the Post
Delphlans will take place Thursday.
June 13, at the home of Mrs. F. H.

Luncheon Is scheduled at 13 o'
clock and there will be election of of

were played. Mrs. Ira D. Canfleld
won first prize In bridge with Mrs.
Albert Hall low. Mrs. Elva Gentry
won first in Five Hundred with Mrs.
Cass Wymore low. A very delightful
time was had by all who attended.
Also very delightful refreshments
were served by the hostess. Everyone
enjoyed playing on the beautiful
lawn.

Busy Dozen club surprised Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Kline Thursday at their
home. Covered dish luncheon was
enjoyed at noon, a lovely birthday
cake baked by Mrs. Hedge peth grac
ing the center of the table. Gifts
were received by Mrs. Mitchell and
Mrs. McNeill, complimenting their
birthdays.

wedding trip, after which they will
make their home in San Francisco.
Mr. Scudder, who is now In the real

ed this week from a delightful two
weeks' vacation In southern Califor
nia, visiting the Exposition at San
Diego and motoring home by way of
the coast route.

Miss Suzette stennett, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Stennett. is visit
ing several days In Portland before
her return to Medford to spend the
summer vacation here. She has been
a student at Oregon State college
during the winter.
Others from Oregon State visiting
with friends in Portland Include Miss
Barbara Field, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. M. D. Field, who is expected to
arrive Monday.
Olive Rehekah Lodge
Has Meeting on Monday
Olive Rebekah lodge No. 28 held
Its regular meeting Monday evening
at I. O. O. F hall. In a beautiful
and Impressive ceremony, the charter
was draped in loving memory of de
parted sister Nancy Wilson. This
ceremony was put on at the Rebekah
assembly at Salem and received much
praise, delegates from the Jackson
ville, Grants Pass. Central Point and
Medford lodges participating, under
the direction of Mrs. Carrie McDan
nels of the Medford lodge.
Interesting reports from the Rebek
ah state assembly were given by the
following delegates: Mrs. Beatrice
Stubblefleld. Ethel Humphreys. Carrie
Rlckert. Ethel Weed, Susan Haines
and Georgia Hess.
Next meeting of the lodge will be
held at I. O. O. F. hall June 17 with
Mrs. Daisy Douglas and her commit
tee in charge of the social hour.

Margaretha Garrett, Tuesday at a
lovely covered dish luncheon. The
luncheon was at the pleasant home
of Mrs. Garrett's mother, Mrs. O. A.
Dalley, with whom she resides at 704
South Oakdale avenue, and who as
sisted In entertaining the guests.. The
affair was very hastily arranged owing
to the unexpected arrival of the
guests of honor, and those In charge
regret that It was impassible to In
form some of the officers, who were
unable to be present.
Following luncheon, Mrs. Kibler
gave those present some valuable and
highly Interesting facts and advice.
Her talk was very entertaining and
much appreciated.
"H la always a treat to the camp
and officers to have her with us and
all look forward to her visit next
fall," was the expression of the camp.

newspaper June 6 telling of the wd
ding In that city June B of Mm.
Theresa Mitchell, formerly of this
city, and Louis Jennings of Medford.

"A wedding at the Methodist par
sonage on Wednesday afternoon
brought a group of friends and rela
tives from New Pine Creek when Mrs.
Theresa Mitchell became the bride of
Louis Jennings of Medford. Rev. W.
