federal reserve bank of San Fran- ,

of 114 firms. The rise was said to

March, but went up 3 points from

Jledforn, American aviator who dis
appeared eight years ago, living as a
"medicine man" in the Jungle of
Dutch Guiana wm related today by
Tom Roche.
The Informant, a Oerman-born
American citizen, said he lived for
three months in 1933 with Redfern,
who vanished while on a flight from
Brunswick, Ga., to Rio de Janeiro,
Roche previously had told his story
to Jamea L. Park, XT. S. consul here,
and Park relayed to the state de
partment at Washington the narra
tor's offer to lead a rescue expedition
to Red fern's hut In an Indian village
tar from civilization.
Roche said Redfern was critically
Injured when his plane crashed
against a mountain. Indians who
found the aviator with both lens and
his left arm broken nursed the filer
bark to health, he said.
