ROME, Italy, May 34. (AP) Pre
mier Benito Mussolini told massed
thousands of soldiers and civilians
today:
"Italy now Is ready for any trial."
His declaration came in the course
of observance of the 20th anniver
sary of Italy's entrance Into the
world war, a ceremony which in
cluded the presenting of battle flags
to regiments which replace units as
signed to East Africa.
His listeners packed Venezla
square, in front of his office. They
heard him say: t
"The words of an unknown Italian
soldier scrawled on the wall of a
house demolished by a shell: 'It Is
better to live one day as a lion than
100 days as a lamb." are not merely
an order they are gospel for us.
"In Spite of Anyone"
"We swear to respect this sacred
Injunction everywhere and In spite
of anyone."
He added:
"Let no one in Italy or abroad de
lude themselves. Italy will consider
carefully before arriving at a deci
sion, but when the decision Is reach
ed, then she will go forward without
turning back.
"It Is necessary, once we have
started, to burn our ships and guide
ourselves along the road of destiny
with a firm hand."
King Victor Emmanuel and Musso
lini stood before the tomb of the un
known soldier, in the shadow of II
Duci's office building, and presented
battle flaps to 16 regiments com
posing the six divisions Just constl
tuted to take the places of those
sent or about to be sent to Africa.
The ceremony was attended by 20.-
000 soldiers and black-shirted fas
cists. Troops for Africa
Despite the lack of official state
ment, all Italian newspapers today
stated that these divisions were des
tined for East Africa, thus making i
total of at least 10.000 men in the
regular army alone.
Before the battle flag presenation,
Mussolini had presided over a fascist
"leva," the graduation exercises for
fascist youth from one organization
Into another.
Half a million of Italy's youth
boys and girls ranging from 8 to 23
stood at attention in hundreds of
towns and cities throughout the na
tion, taking an oath of fealty to II
Duce and his dictates.
In Rome more than 10.000 of the
youngsters massed on the Via Del
Imepro, where they were reviewed by
II Duce and the fascist hierarchy.
500.000 Rookies
The almost 500,000 youngsters who
participated in ceremonies throughout
the nation today constitute only a
small part of the 4.397.288 members
of the Opera Nazlonale Balllla, or
national youth movement.
They were merely the "rookies," or
those who have reached the age limit
of one class and were formally mus
tered Into the ranks of another.
Thus 178,789 balllla who have Just
passed into their fourteenth years,
appeared for the first time this morn
ing in the ranks of the avanguardlBtl
where they will stay for four years
of study, drill and physical exercise.
They receive real rifles In ceremonies
held in their various encampments
after taking their oaths. Many sec
tions of them were formed with ma
chine gun companies, others with ar
tillery, naval, aviation, tank and radio
sicnal units.

Kellogg's All-Bran Corrects
His Condition
Notice has been received that the
state supreme court has set May 31
as the date for hearing of arguments
In the civil suit of Dan Watson
Here is an interesting, unsolicited
letter: "I have used Kellogg's All
Brak for about 4 years, and find it
a wonderful relief for constipa
tion. While in Government Ser
vice in the P. I., I contracted con
stipation in 1898-99.
"I consider your All-Bran in
terms of millions, instead of the
cost of a box of pills, for it surely
has saved me. I eat All-Bran
every morning." F. L. Wylie,
Visalia, Calif.
'Constipation due to insufficient
"bulk" in meals.
Research shows Kellogg's All
Bran supplies gentle "bulk" to aid
regular habits. All-Bran is also
rich in vitamin B, as well as iron,
an element of the blood.
Kellogg's All-Bran is a delicious
laxative food ... far better than
patent medicines. Two tablespoon
fuls daily are usually sufficient. In
severe cases, with each meal. If not
relieved this way, see your doctor.
