BKLLVIEW, May 20. (Spl.) Up
per Valley Community Club held Its
last meeting of the club year last
week with about twenty members
present. A covered dlnh luncheon at
1 o'clock opened the meeting. Dur
ing the business session Mrs. Oscar
Martin was elected to fill the vacancy
on the board of trustees caused by
the resignation of Mrs. Homer Moore.
Installation of officers followed.
Mrs. Claude Conley, president; Mrs.
Walter Longstreth, vice president;
Mrs. Lee Wallls. secretary; Alice
Pagel, treasurer, and Mrs. Martin,
trustee. Last payment on the piano
was made and the books were turned
over to the new treasurer with no
debts. The report showed that near
ly $500 had been earned for Improve
ments on the club house during the
past year.
Rofier Wolfe of Medford. grandaon
of Mra. W. L. Moore, opened the pro
gram with several selections on the
piano. Mra. Homer Moore read a pa
per on "History of Music."
A group of pupils from the Bell
view school gave ac verni songs and
folk dances, There will he no meet
ings until the second Wednesday In
September.
Bellview school will have three days
of activities this week. On May 2
there will be the annual picnic to
which all parenta and friends of the
school Hre Invited. In the afternoon
the P.-T. A. will hold a meeting for
the election or officers. On May 3?
the whole school will go to Oak
Grove where, with five other schools,
"play day" will be enjoyed, which In
cludes a track meet and baseball
games. On Friday those who suc
cessfully pass the state examinations
will be graduated at the Junior high
school In Ashland. There are eleven
pupils In the eighth grade, all of
whom are busy this week writing on
the state examination questions.
Bill Mundy, who haa been quite
ill with flu and mumps, is improv
i lng but Is not yet able to be up.
Mrs. I. E. Deadmond was the honor
guest at a mother's day dinner at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Long
I streth and family. Mr. Deadmond
was a guest also.

sending of delegates to the 4-H sum

door sports meet held between the
two camps here Wednesday in eels

of cribbage for Wlmer. defeating

Wlmer proved conclusively that it
had more pull than Evans Creek by
winning the ten-man tug -of-war. It
Is estimated that Wlmer's ten-man

the Eagle Point district; Earl Jone
and family are moving to Ashland
this week; and the Elba who will
leave next week for Crescent ' City
where Mr. Eib has employment for
the summer.

Ted Brown, flying Instructor, he digs
up bone at the home airport and
