During the first few years of the
organization there was no permanent
place of worship. They met tn differ
ent homes and halls until the first
church was built at the present loca
tion at 10th and Ivy streets.
For twentv-eleht years this same
church has continued to be the place
of worship when less than two years
ago a new chtirch was erected.

now retired and living near Portland,
also W. E. Goode and J. W. Sharpe,
both traveling throughout the valley
as pioneer preachers.

He will conduct a public , meeting
at the Army hall Monday and an
other Tuesday, beginning at 8:00
p. m.
Wednesday evening at 7:45. Col

, The present pastor. Rev. E. N. Long,
came to serve the church in 1931.
During these four years, all depart
ments of the church have "steadily
grown under his leadership. The
membership has more than doubted
during his ministry.
The old building became Inade
quate to the needs of the church and
through the pastor's efficient over
sight and faith In his congregation
and the people of Medford the new
church was built and dedicated free
of debt a little over a year ago.
Rev. Long is untiring In his minis
try, beloved by his congregation and
many friends of Medford and sur
rounding community.
The pastor and his people cordially
welcome any and all who may not
have a church home In any other
place.

Medford was organized in the year
1912.
Month after month they have met
together and have studied, prayed
and worked, often making garments
to be given or sent to the needy.
They have prepared and packed boxea
containing clothing, dried and can
ned fruits, literature and other use
ful articles to bo sent and distrib
uted on the mission fields.
In the regular monthly meetings
the Interdenominational study book
la used. Their hearts have been glad
dened in this service as well as their
happy cooperation In the work of the
local church.
One of the first women to serve
as president of this organization was
Mrs. Emma Sharpe, who now resides
in San Fernando. Calif., at the ago
of eighty-three years.
Mrs. Anna S. Long, wife of the
present pastor, now acts In this
capacity and during the four years
she has held this office the
work has grown encouragingly.
