A new 800-gallon va.t and tubular
cooler have been Installed in the Im
maculate milk depairtment which ha
a storage room 14 by U feet in al7.
The checking room la conveniently
situated directly In front of the main
entrance to the building and at the
left of that la the large business of
fice with attractive new furnishing
and modern equipment. Mrs. Sntder's
private office adjoins this depart
ment. To further perfect the high quality
of Snider Gold Medal butter, a new
chum wa recently Installed In the
butter room. A large vat and Bine
cooler are also included in the im
provement. Now Freezing Tunnel
One of the many interesting devices
to be seen at Snlder'a plant la the
freezing tunnel In the Ice cream de
partment. This equipment was manu
factured In Medford by Merrlmnns
Shop, Incorporated and it la said to
be the first Installed in Oregon, and
the second In the United States. The
Ice cream room ha a new mixing vat
with a, capacity of 150 gallon. Two
air conditioner unit ma-intaln a tem
perature of from two to eight de
gree below zero at all times In the
freezlna room.
Snlder'a are now able to bottle 11
and 20 ounce bottles with their new
Fed Diamond liquid carbonic ma
chine. Lime Rickey, Ginger Ale.
Hires, Coca Col nd all Klst pro
duct are bottled In Medford by Snt
der's. There 1 space for three car
load of beer In Snider' new beer
storage room.

ter here. Secretary Ickea today ord
ered 175 lawvera, engineer and fi
nance examiners to go into the states
"as quickly a possible" and handle
a pplicntion for project under the

Outlining the latest moves in the
big task of putting 3,500,000 unem
ployed to work, Ickes told reporters
these men would work in cooperation
with state PWA engineer. In several
state "where the volume of work t
great," Icke aald, state directors will
be named.
NEW LIGHTING FOR

school directors for the three grade
school buildings and the junior high
school. Contract for wiring and in
stallation of fixtures ha been award
ed to J. S. MacDonald, local elec
trician, who will atart the work in
the near future. The project la to
cost the district approximately 12300
and will be the principal Improve
ment to be made to the buildings
this year.
The new fixtures, purchased after
thorough tests and scientific study,
will provide the most perfect illumi
nation possible and will reduce eye
strain to a minimum.
The school board In ft study of
lightning needs was assisted by Allen
Smith, lighting expert with the new
business department of the Cali
fornia Oregon Power company.
The action was taken by the board
upon recommendations made by
Parent-Teacher associations.
