At Sarred Heart Miss Eva Walden
of Medford and Mrs. J. P. Clark of
Central Point both underwent major
operations at the Sacred Heart hos
pital the latter part of the week, and
are recovering nicely. Mrs. A. D. Col
lier Is also confined to the hospital,
receiving medical treatment.
Missionary to Visit Rev. H. J.
Openshaw, a returned missionary
from China, la traveling north from
California. He will speak In Ashland
Sunday morning and at the First
Baptist church. Medford, Sunday
evening. The public Is urged to plan
to hear him then as he may not be
able to stay for his part on the as

Tllble Conference Dr. B. B. Silt

Moody Bible Institute of Chicago,
will open a Bible conference Monday
evening. May 6 at 7:43 o'clock in
the Baptist church. Tuesday morning
he will speak at 11 o'clock In con
nection with the Rogue River Bap
tist association, and again Wednes
day. Thursday and Friday evenings
at 7:45. All are urged to bring family,
friends and Bible.

Eton Club to Meet The Home
Economics club of the Jacksonville
Grange met with Mrs. Florene Sever
ance In Jacksonville Friday afternoon
for a special planning meeting. Re
freshment were served In no-host
manner. Next Wednesday, May 8 the
club will meet at 2 o'clock In the
grange hall. No refreshments will be
served but lots of work must be done
for the week-end activities. Every
member Is urged to come out to this
meeting ready to cooperate In the
cleaning of the hall and kitchen.

May 1. The planning commission,
composed of the retiring officers and
chairmen of committees, serving. At
the business session which followed

report and message to the church.

It seems that the monster cre
ated by the scientist, Frankenstein,
was not destroyed alter all, for at
the Rlnlfo theatre, starting today, a
sequel to the "horror film" Is being
shown In "The Bride of Franken
stein" with Ksrioff again in the
monster role he created for the
other picture.
This time the monster talks and
demands the mute that was pro
mised him. Colin Cllve as the scien
tist, with the aid of another, then
creates a "woman monster" to take
her place as the bride. The result
is said to be an even mare thrilling
screen adventure than the first pic
