Esther Bristol appears as Zerllna,,

The three-act comedy farce, "Skid
ding," by Auranin Rouverol. will be
presented by the senior class of Ash
land high school Friday. May 3. In
the Ashland high school gym. The
cast has been working diligently for
many weeks on the production, and
those who have seen pre-presentatlon
performances declare It to be far su
perior to the ordinary run of high
school plays.
BUI Jungwlrth and HJalmar Kan
nasto, basketball stars familiar to
Medford fans, have Important roles
In the 'production, the former taking
the part of Andy and the latter play
ing Grandpa. Margaret Harker plays
the lending feminine role as Marian
Hardy, and Errol Miller, a Wayne
Trenton, has the masculine lead.
PLAY SATURDAY NIGHT
The Juniors and seniors of Prospect
high school will present "Drums In
My Heart" In the Prospect school gym
nasium Saturday, May 4. at 8:15.
L It Is a mystery play of unusual
theme, and the solution Is baffling to
the most astute. There are three
acts and earh is filled with excite
ment, humor and mystery.
This is the first mystery play to be
given in Prospect In several years.
trsrr refusal of department heads to
appropriate money he considered nec
essary, he undertook devious mesne
of getting this money and converted
all of It to park improvements.
Jury Ignores Defense
The government, however. Insisted
that by no means all of the money
so realized was diverted to govern
ment US'1, and thet considerable of It
actually founds Its way Into Sol Ins -ky's
pockets. This, the federal court
Jury chose to believe.
Two subordinates of Soli n sky, A. R.
Edwin, former clerk and special dis
bursing officer at the park, and I. F.
Davidson, former construction super
intendent there, were Jointly Indicted
with Sollnsky on nine counts. They
pleaded guilty before Sollnsky went
to trial, and appeared as government
witnesses. They probably will be sen
tenced with Sollnrky on Saturday.
News of the conviction of K. C.
(Count) Sollnsky, former superinten
dent of Crater Lake National park, on
14 counts charging financial Irregu1
larltles In the park finances, was re
ceived In this city about 11 o'clock
last night. Sollnsky had been park
superintendent since 1929, and was
widely known In this city and county.
as was his family. Sollnsky took an
active part In civic activities, and up
to the time of his unexpected Indict
ment enjoyed an excellent reputation
throughout southern Oregon.
The conviction strips Sollnsky of
park pension and retirement rights.
According to local reports, an ap
peal of the conviction to a, higher
federal court. Is probable.
Sollnsky succeeded Col. C. O.
Thomson as park i peri n tend ent. and
before t':at he was assistant superin
tendent at Yosemite National park.
Most of his life has been Bpent in the
forest or park service. In his college
days, he was a star football player at
the University of California.
His many friends in Medford were
shorkd at the news of his conviction.
the general Impression among them
being there would be acquittal or ?-t
worst a hung Jury.
