Friends of the James Brownlee
family were saddened to hear of the
death of their daughter, Elolae at
Cottage Orove recently. Eloise at
tended grade school here for several
years before the family moved to
Ashland two years ago.

Sage home Sunday.
County machinery and workmen
are at work here preparing the road
bed west of the Table Rock store
for oiling operations to be done
later In the season.
Owing to the narrow right of way
It was necessary to move the tele
phone poles to the fence on the
south side of the road.
During the process of moving
patrons of the local telephone 3m
pany were without service, but with
the higher poles and the stretching
of the wires there should be an Im
provement tn the service.
Business seems to be on the up
trend here with many men employed
on orchards, farms, county roads
and CCC work. One home owner here
so far haa taken advantage of the
federal housing act aud put In a new
hard wood floor.
