The torrid romance of a tempes
tuous dancer and a madcap heiress
forms the story of "Rumba." Raft
Is shown as a cabaret dancer In Ha
vana, exiled from Broadway by
threats of gang vengeance. Then he
falls In love with Miss Lombard but.
her parents hearing of the romance,
force her to return to New York.
In order to be near the girt he
loves, the dancer accepts a starring
part in a Broadway show and. despite
warnings from the gang, prepares to
go through with his contract. Ths
story moves to a rapid climax in
which the two lovers are rejoined in
the ecstatic "Rumba" the Cuban
dance of love.
