M. potter, welfare officer, made a
brief business visit to Camp Oregon
Caves during the week.
Special Agent Calls W. S. Boyer
of Portland, special agent, division
of Investigation, was a brief visitor
at the offices of Crater Lake National
park Friday while passing through
Medford.

- 5- Know Freezes Officials of Rogue
River National forest reported Sat
urday that the snow at Union Creek
has been frozen nearly solid by sev
eral consecutive hard freezes, which
make skiing conditions fast but dan
gerous. The total depth at Union
Creek Is now 40 inches, 14 inches of
new snow having fallen previous to
the recent freezing nights.

visiting in Medford Saturday.

eration for appendicitis at the Sacred
Heart hospital Friday. Is resting eas

been discharged from the CCC, left

ical care at the Sacred Heart hospital,
where he has been a patient for the

received an interesting letter Thurs
day from her mother, Mrs. Glen Fab-
rlck of Medford who Is enjoying a
tour of pacific points. She wrote that j
she fas leaving Hawaii February 11 1
for New Zealand, planning to stop j

Car Damaged A car owned by
Walter Abbey was slightly damaged
by fire Friday evening when defective
wiring evidently caused a small blaze
that was extinguished by the Med
ford fire department. The fire occur
red in Abbey's garage, 123 South Riv
erside. Home from Hospital Norman C.
White, assistant superintendent of
Rogue River National forest, has re
turned to his home, after having
beep, receiving medical treatment for
the last ten days at the Community
hospital. His son, Norman E. White,
a student at Oregon State college.
