Veteran Dies.
PENDLETON, Jan. 3. - (fl, :u
Pinion. 57, commander of the Pen
dleton department of Veterans of
Foreign Wars, died here Wednesday
from a heart attack. He was a well
known business man and a member
of the boxing commission. His widow
and two sons survive.

home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stokes.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Case and family
entertained with a Christina dinner.
Clarence Case and John Nelson were
guests of the day.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Sanderson and
family spent Christmas day at the
home of their daughter and husband,
Mr. and Mrs. Melvln Martin near
Eagle Point. Other guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Homer Martin and family
and Dick Petry of Reese Creek.
Mr. and Mrs. Sater attended church
In Medford Sunday. Dec. 33, also the
American Legion Christmas exercises.
Mrs. Rush and family are spending
the holidays In Taft, Calif., with Mr.
Rush, who la employed at that place
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Sanderson and
Mrs. Thelma Martin -pent Christmas
evening visiting at the home of Mr.
Sanderson's mother, Mrs. Annie San
derson In Central Point who has been
confined to her home for several days
with a severe attack of "flu."
The Blschoff family have been sick
with the "flu" but are better at this
writing.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Dermond of
Flounce Rock spent Now Year's with
Mrs. DeArmond'a parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Snllee of the Meadows.
Christmas was observed at the
homa of Mr. and Mrs. TJolker of the
Meadows by the home comln; of their
children who ore working and at
school. They ended the day by at
tending the dance at Beagle.
Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Walker are the
proud parents of a fine baby girl
weighing C pounds, born flnnday, Dec.
30. The little miss la named Sophia
Sarah.
Mrs. Walter Grant Is very III with
j pneumonia. Her many friends wish
her speedy recovery.
Sylvia Case la staying at the Walk
er home for a few days helping with
the work.
Buster Case has been quite 111 with
the flu but Is better at this writing.
Friends and neighbors were sad
dened and shocked at the passing on
of Mrs. Seegmlller Sunday evening
with pneumonia. She was liked by
every one and will be missed by all
In the neighborhood. Her life wis
spent In caring Tor and pleasing all
those who came In contact with her.
Mrs. Seegmlller was a Christian wom
an and very active In the work; also
. member of the Friendly Neighbors
and the Pleasant Hour club here, and
several organizations In Sams Valley.
Every one extends their deepest sym
pathy to the family. Mr. Seegmlller
Is bed fast with the "flu" also.
