ItEIH IN LAW
PORTLAND, Dee. VI. (AP) A rea
ommendatloa that Ojegon's erlmlasl
syndicalism law be strengthened,
rather than repealed, was brought so
the annual convention of the District
Attorneys' association of Oregon here
today by Oeorge Codding, Jackson
county prosecutor.
Suggested amendments to the Ore
gon liquor enntral aet also occupied
the attention of the district attrs
nejrs at the opening session of thel
two-day meeting.
Answering the pleas of some groupa
that the criminal syndicalism law be
repealed, District Attorney Codding
declared, "My Idea Is that we ought
to put more teeth In the law rather
than wipe It off the statute bookv
Codding said he will ask the re
lutlona committee to advocate that
the state legislature strengthen the
law by returning to tt eertaln pro
visions which were stricken from It
by the 1933 legislature
Several amendments to the liquor
oontrol law were auggested at the
round-tab:, ' discussion by the mea
who have vhe responsibility of prose
cuting violators of tha law.
One proposal was that the Juettea
courts be given concurrent Jurisdic
tion with the circuit courts over all
violations of the so-called Xnox law.
The Idea was favorably received and
probably will be Incorporated among
the resolutions.
