Special. Section
This section of The Mall Trib
une, designed to advertise the
American Legion's show, "Ten
Nights in a Barroom," is made
possible through the co-operation
of Med lord businessmen and the
wholehearted efforts of Chairman
Morris Leonard and Assistant
Chairman Cole Holmes.
The proceeds of Friday night's
entertainment will go to defray
relief and other expenses of the
post. For the generosity of the
local merchants, and the work of
Comrades Leonard and Holmes,
and others who assisted In prepa
ration of the special section, Med
ford Post of the American Legion
Is deeply grateful..
I. E. FOY,
Commander.
Perry (phoning down from his
room) : "Is this the night clerk?"
Snippy Clerk: "Yeah, what's biting
you?"
Perry: "That's what I want to
know,"
Just as
pa was a cut-up, the audience win
be invited to Join in the fun. They
may sing with the actors, engage
in repartee with he players and
otherwise deport themselves as they
desire. The only restriction will be
in the matter of what sort of vege
tables are heaved at the Thespians.
Fred Scheffel of the house commit
tee haa ruled that all fruits and
vegetables harder than a grapefruit
will be barred. The committee wants
everyone to have a good time but
don't want any of the boys from
Ashland to have to go home In an
ambulance or a hearse. .
Those who wish to bring their
own sandwiches, to be consumed
along with the beer which will be
purveyed during the performance,
are invited to do so. The only dan
ger in this will be that someone
may take a bite of sandwich dur
ing one of the many hilarious inci
dents of the show and choke to
death laughing.
The huge ball room of the Ori
ental Gardens will have tables, and
chairs scattered throughout and it
is umed that all who plan to attend,
.reserve their tables from Lee Garlock
at the Auto registration ornce on
South Riverside. This is especially
recommended where tables for parties-
are- wanted. Remember, those
who make reservations early will get
the best tables.
"Come one, come all," Is the slo
gan of the Legion for the big "Ten
Nights in a Bar-room." So Join the
crowd and go back to the good old
days of horse cars, lcng-tailed coats,
bustles and mustache cups.
Now for the show itself.
"Ten Nights In a Bar-room" Is
supposed to be eerioua, but how
can it be when we have such names
