high school students are doing. Open
housa will prevail tonight with the
doors opening promptly at 7:30 o'clock.
The musical program will begin at 8.
Dances and songs of foreign na
tions will be featured. Impressions
of England, Russlr., Japan and Spain
will be given In song and dance.
Mary Kc-t, student of James Stev
na. will alng as a solo "Habanera,"
from the opera Carmen, and will be
assisted by the Medford High School
Girls' Glee club. Frankle Rtnabarger
will dance the "Habanera," also from
the opera Carmen.
This extensive program In costume,
with colorful scenery to form the
background for the dances and songs,
will give to the Medford public- one
nf the best open house programs ever
presented by the Medford high school.
The glee clubs, under the direction
of Mrs. Leake, will sing numerous
songs. The Boys' Glee club of the
high school will cing "Volga Boat-,
man," and with the Girls' Glee club
"Country Gardens," "Dance of the
Hopak" and Mrs. Leake's arrangement
of "John Peel," an old English hunt
ing song which In originality la a
boys chorus number. 1
The Girls Glee club will sing two
number, "The Cobbler's Jig" and
"On the Steppes." The Japanese
Love Song" and "The Japanese Sun
set" will be sung and danced by the
high glee club.
Principal Paul Menegat announced
today that he Is more than anxious
to meet any of the parents of the
students who are attending the high
school or any person Interested In
the work done by the high school
students.
In the past the high school has
had a full house for the open house
programs and It Is hoped that the
same will prevail tonight.
The faculty has gone to a great
deal of extra work In its efforts to
make this year's open house program
the best ever.
The Art and Boys Industrial
classes of the school were respon
sible for placing the scenery on the
stage. In co-operation with the glee
clubs, dance steps were added to the
chorus numbers by Miss Degermark,
Instructor of physical education at
the hlerh school.
Members of the faculty will be
present In their respective rooms to
greet visitors.
An Invitation Is extended to each
and every citizen of Medford to visit
the 1934 open house at the Medford
senior high school on South Oakdale.

water and fruit Juices.
Frapp a water Ice frozen only
slightly may be served nicely as a
cocktail or with meat as well as a
dessert.
Sherbet Made by using milk or
cream, egg whites or gelatin to the
water ice combination.
Ice Cream A combination of thin
cream, sugar and flavoring, tnicK-
ened by eggs, com starch, tapioca or
some such agent.
Mousse Whipped cream, sweetened
and flavored.
Parfait Combination of beaten
eggs, heavy syrup and whipped cream
flavored and usually decorated elaborately.
Sundae Ice cream served with
crushed fruit or some other sweet
sauce.
Frozen Puddings Just what the
name Indicates.
Ice Box Cakes Usually a shell of
cake, cookies or crackers with ft fill
ing of rich custard or whlped cream.
Fruit Whip A fruit mixture held
up by beaten egg whites and sugar.

Tuttl Fructl Mallow
20 marshmallows.
1 cup milk.
1 cup whipping cream.
i cup maraschino cherries.
3 slices pineapple.
cup nut meats.
1 teaspoon vanilla.
. Beat tht milk la the top of a dou-1
ble boiler (or on low heat). Add
marshmallows. Dissolve over hot
water, stirring frequently. Cool. Whip
cream until thick (not stiff) and
fold Into the cooled mixture. Add
chopped fruit and nuts then flavor
ing.. Freese without stirring.
Fruit Fponge
1 tablespoon gelatin. -
4 egg whites.
H cup sugar.
banana.
14 teaspoon salt.
1 orange, peeled and sliced.
H cup crushed pineapple,
cup chopped nuts.
4 tablespoons cold water.
3 tablespoons lemon Juice.
Soften gelatin in cold water then
dissolve over boiling water. Beat
whites until stiff, folding In sugar
and salt. Carefully add fruits, nuts
and lemon Juice then add the gela
tin gradually, stirring constantly.
Pour Into molds and chill.
Frozen Bread Pudding
1H cups milk. n
cup sugar.
1 tablespoon butter.
3 cups fine soft bread . (crowd
cups).
1 egg.
teaspoon nutmeg.
1 teaspoon vanilla.
H cup seedless raisins.
Heat milk. Remove from range and
add sugar, butter, bread and well
tKaten egg, then the flavoring. Cool
and pour Into freezing pans for two
hours. Remove from pans and work
In the raisins- then return to the
pans and freeze until well set (about
two hours). Serve with cream or
syrup.
"MaMiroon Bavarian
3 cups milk, scalded.
1 ukg. cherry flavored gelatin.
1 cup whipping cream.
1 cup crushed macaroons.
!4 cup chopped maraschino cherries.
Dissolve gelatin In scalded milk,
add cherries and macaroons, mixing
well. Cool until partially aet then
fold In whipped cream and turn Into
molds. Chill.
Grape Ice
3 cups grape Juice.
yA cup lemon Juice.
3 cups water.
3-3 cup sugar.
Combine sugar and water, boll five
minutes then cool. Add fruit Julcss
and freeze.
Cliiger Sherbet
1 cup sugar.
3 cups water.
lb. canton ginger.
3-3 cup orange Juice.
1-3 cup lemon Juice.
1 egg white.
Boll sugar and water 15 minutes
wTthglnger cut In small pieces. Add
fruit Juice, cool, strain and put In
trays to freeze one hour. Remove
and fold in beaten egg white. Re
turn to freezing compartment to
complete freezing.
Baked Alaska 1
This may be made as on large
cake or In Individual portions.
Use a plain sponge c-ke for the
bottom layer, having chilled It thor
oughly before starting the final prep
aration. Place this cake (or por
tions) on a chilled board or several
thicknesses of chilled brown paper.
On the cake place a thick layer or
Ice cream. Cover with a heavy me
rlnge. Place in oven at 436 degrees
until slightly browned (about 1ft
minues). Berve at onoe.
Cranberry Moue
a Vi cups cranberries.
1'4 cupa cold water,
l'i cups sugar.
14 teaspoon salt.
cup orange Juice.
lVt teaspoon vanilla.
1 cup chilled evaporated milk (or
whipping cream).
t teaspoon gelatin.
Scald the evaporated milk and add
one-half teaspoon ful of gelatin which
has been soaked In one teaspoon of
cold water. Chill thoroughly and
whip, until stiff, before folding into
the cranberry sauce (made of the
first four lngredlenta cooked until
tender, and strained). Add orange
and vanilla. Mold and freeze about
four hours.

charges of violating her probation.

Sift flour once measure, add baiting powder and salt, and sift to
gether three times. Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually,
