Police Officer Louis Johnson, who has
been located on the coast for the past
several weeks, has been returned to
his previous station at Grants Pass.
Officer Johnson was previously on

Four Passengers There were four
passengers came to Medford this
afternoon on the Oregon Air Servl-e
ship from Klamath Falls. Included
among the passengers were Mr. Kln-
cald of radio station KFJI, and Mr.
Davis of the Lorenz company.
Ambrose In Hospital sergeant
Keith K. Ambrose of the Oreeon state
police, who has been stationed In
Curry county, la now In a Portland
hospital receiving treatment for ba-k

mobile accident. Sergeant Ambrose

Return to Home Mr. and Mrs. A
A. Flynn left this city Wednesday for
their home In Salem, after spending
the past two days In Grants Pass, vis
iting his brother-in-law and sister,
Mr. and Mrs. George T. Peake and
family at their home on D street. Mr.
and Mrs. Flynn have been in south
ern Oregon since before Thanksgiving
on business and pleasure. They were
guests In Medford erf Mr. Ply nil's
mother, Mrs. A. E. Trowbridge, the
Grants Pass Courier aays.
To Sec Pictures The SERA inter
pretive geography class which meets
tonight at the Senior high school will
be shown a series of pictures thrown
on the screen by the reflectoecope.
The pictures are original water col
ors of Canadian scenes, depicting such
Interesting views as are found along
the McKenzle trail and In the Can
adlan Rockies. A number of unusual
glimpses of wild animal life will be
a feature. All of the classes are free
and the public Is Invited to view these
scenes. The class meets at 7:15, in
room 9.
CANDLE LIGHT SALE

A miniature department store has
been set up In the Holland hotel
building, where this week-end the
Jackson County Humane society is
conducting its annual Candle Light
aale. Offerings of almost every type
and description may be found in the
three rooms at the corner of Fir and
Sixth streets where today committee
members are busy arranging the nu
merous articles.
The sale will open at ten o'clock
Friday morning, and continue
through the day, and Saturday.
All of the articles for the sale are
not old, for an amount of new ma
terial has been received that is be
ing shown on the gift tables. The
sale, being conducted by the Humane
society offers many worthwhile ar
ticles which are expected to prove
beneficial to ths needy.
A number of local women are co
operating In putting on the sale i
Mrs. Lottie Howard is In charge of
the millinery department, and was
today preparing many hats for the
opening of the sale tomorrow. Mrs.
H. Van Hoevenberg and her daugh
ter Miss Vivian are In charge of the
lingerie department, while Mrs. Shel
by Tuttle, Mrs. Betty Bevan and Mrs.
H. D. McCaskey will operate the gift
section.

the wedding Saturday In Walla Walla.
Wash., of Miss Dorotha Jane Rlddell
daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. G. Rld
dell, and Lynn B. Croxdale of this j
city, son of Mrs. Thomas Croxdale of I
Walla Walla.
The ceremony was performed by!
Rev. Hartman of the Methodist
church at the home of Mrs. Allan
Drumheller, sister of the groom. The
bride, who was attired in gold crepe
and wore ft corsage of white gardenias
and white rosebuds, was attended by
Mrs. Drumheller, and the groom's at
tendant was James Hill, Jr., of Pen
dleton. There were 20 guests present to
witness the ceremony, which was per
formed at 3:30 o'clock In the after-
noon.
Mrs. Croxdale wax graduated from
Medford high school and attended
Scrlppa college for women at Clare
mont, Cal.
Mr. Croxdale waa graduated from
Whitman college In Walla Walla,
where he was affiliated with Phi
Delta Theta fraternity.
Mr. and Mrs. Croxdale, who have
returned to Medford, are making
their home at the Dr. Hoffman place
on the Jacksonville highway.

resident who had drunk too heavily
and been arrested, has solved the
mutter In a unique way. i
The Reporter agrees to the request.
but it demands that a pledge of fu- j
ture sobriety be signed. In a small
town where everyone knows his
neighbors, the chronicling of police j
court news has Its peculiar embar- i
rassments, and Charles Spencer, I
editor, reporta the plan has worked
well.
When it Is a case of a first of-
fender. Spencer agrees to withhold
the story from print if the lndl
vtdual will sign a pledge In which
he agrees to do his best to keep
away from liquor In the future, and
In which he agrees to the right of
the paper to publish the fact If he
"breaks over" again.
There have been more than 100
signers of the pledge, according to
Spencer, and only three have broken
it. ,
"Un fortunately,' added Spencer,
"one of the three waa a rather Im
portant advertiser."
The pledge follows:
"The undersigned, having been ar
rested for drunkenness, and fined
In the police court of Independence,
wishes to have no mention made
of the incident in the Dally Re
porter. "In case no mention Is made oi
this Incident we promise to do our
best to leave liquor alone, and in
event we do not and we get Into
police court again for reason of
'breaking over.' then the Reporter
has our consent In advance to pub
lish a news story concerning the
same, as well as to mention the par
ticulars of the case, which caused iw
to sign this pledge, and likewise the
fact that we signed it."

Presenting Plays
Three one-act plays, a magical
play, "The Vanishing Princess," a
poetical fantasy, "Lima Beans," and
comedy, "Suppressed Desires." will
be presented by the Junior class ot
the Phoenix high school at the
Phoenix gymnasium December 7 at
8 o'clock.
The students taking part are
Mabel Hardesty. Patricia Thompson,
Roma MrReynolds, John Barker,
Martin May and Heath Lowry.
