among the group of most discussed
pictures of the year,- largely because

with this setback, she decides to risk
all and goes to Europe to study un
der the masters. There, her voice Is
heard by Tullo Carmlnatl, the maes

made Into a great singer. Romance
Is forbidden If she Is to hav a career
and It Is this situation that causes
her to finally leave Europe and re
turn to the Metropolitan opera house
for her American debut, contrary to
her maestro's wishes. There Is much
comedy supplied by Luis Albernl, as
the valot, with Lyle Talbot as the
young American who wants the sing'
er to give up her career and marry
him.
