Leonard Hilkey who was badly
burned on the face and one hand,
about two weeks ago Is back from
the hospital In Medford. The acci
dent happened at a camp fire. Sev
eral children were running around
the fire and jumping over the fire.
The grade school Thanksgiving
play will be given Wednesday after
noon at 3:30. 1
"The Butte Falls Spray," the high
school paper was published Monday.
A surprise shower was given for
Mrs. Clyde Adams by the Pollyanna
girls at the home of Mrs. Charles
Cummings. The main gift was a all
ver sugar and creamer on a silver
tray. The entertainment consisted of
plays, songs and refreshments.

Phoenix Grange held Its regular
meeting Tuesday evening and took
eight new members through the third
and fourth degrees. A large attend
ance waa present and the work waa
most beautifully exemplified. Credit
in ane the drill team for the beauti
ful drills. Refreixhmenta were served.
Mrs. Hi is me and friend of O'Brien
and Cave City were guests of Mrs.
Elkman and Mr. and Mrs. A G Groy
of Medford over the Thanksgiving
holidays.
Mrs. Etta Sinclolr left Sunday by
stage after spending a few days with
her cousin, Mrs. Mary O. Carey. Mrs.
Mrs. Sinclair spent two months in
California visiting relatives of the
two cousins.
Mra. Bell Furry and Mrs. Marie
Furry ware Medford visitors on Mon
day evening. Mrs. Bell Furry Is here
from Yreka for a few days.

assessments for the various towns
and villages In the southern part of
Jackson county, was published. Tax
payers of Phoenix will be Interested
to learn that the figure 30.1 mills
was In error, And the taxes will be
based on a 30.1 mill assessment In
