daughter of Mrs. Jane Merritt or

vaney of Medford, were married last
venlng at the A. F. Mansfield resi
dence on Rose avenue, Reverend
William R. Balrd, pastor of the First
Christian church, officiating. The
ceremony woo at six o'clock.
The bride was attired 'In peach
lace, with a matching hat of mallnea
In halo style, and lace mitts In the
same a hade. She carried a nosegay.
Attending the bride was Mlsi Lor
Inne Conlro of Portland, who wore
grey chiffon. John Dillon, also of
Portland, was best man. The brlde'a
mother, Mrs. Merritt, was attired In
black satin.
Mendelssohn 'a wedding march was
played at the ceremony. The rooms
were attractively decorated In tall
white taper and white chrysanthe
mums. Following the ceremony, a buffet
supper was served, with eighteen
guests present.

County Health association met at
the courthouse on Friday for the
regular bi-monthly meeting. In the
absence of the president, Mrs. Alex

newer theories of child welfare, and
Dr. L. D. Inskeep gave a resume
of the advances during the past
eighteen months, on control of con
tagious diseases. He named the two
outstanding ones as a new serum
for Infantile paralysis and a devel
opment of toxin antl-toxln for diph
theria immunity. Dr. O. I. Drum
mond spoke on the healing arts

The ladles' drill team exemplified
the altruistic work. After the meet
ing a light lunch was served, during
which a short program was enjoyed.
The program Included a Chinese
song by John and Lillian 8hea, har
monica solo by Les Wagner, a tap
dance by John Shea, a piano solo
and encore by Sebastian Apollo, and
four Eagle song numbers by Mr. and
Mrs. A. H. Bnnwell. The songs were
written and dedicated to the Eagles
by Mr. Ban well, Eagles worthy presi
dent. A few novelty numbers on the
piano by Mr. Banwell were enjoyed.
Sheriff Olmscheld was called upon
for a Ihort talk ln behalf of his
candidacy for sheriff. Approximately
400 members were present and an
enjoyable evening was spent.
