ranged by the seven organizations
participating In the Community
Cheat will be open for Inspection.
The entertainment will open with a
concert b, Wilson Wane's High
school band, and ft colorful demon
stration In which sixty Boy Scouts
will participate. Larry Be hade. Jr.,
and Truman Blaylock will play prom
inent rolls In this demonstration. -
After a five minute period during
which time the audience will be seat
ed, the Health association will spon
sor the students of the Roosevelt
school In a clever little skit, "My
Health House." beginning at 8:20.
At 8:35 p. m. an Instructive first
aid demonstration will be given by
the Oregon State police, under tho
supervision of Sgt. ,W. H. Ellenburg.
Following this demonstration, which
will be sponaored by the American
Red Cross, the Girl Scouts will en
tertain with a "Song Feat." This
will be followed by a relay race. In
which the Boy Scouts will participate.

The Girls' Community club will
contribute a style parade to the ral
ly program at 8:60 p. m. This will
be followed by a selection from the :
Medford High school band, and the
Introduction of COach D. K. Burgher ,
of the Medford High school. At 8:00
the Welfare Fxchanpa will offer a
display of work done by this fine
organization.
One of the most enjoyable feature
of the rally will be Instrumental
quartet selections rendered by tho
Salvation Army at 9:05 o'clock. As
another musical feature of the pro
gram, the Boy Scouts will sing camp
fire songs. This will be followed by
a brief address on the need for Com
munity Chest support by Reverend
E. B. Bartlam of the Episcopal
church. Reverend Bartlam will be In
troduced by Mayor George Porter.
After Reverend Bartlam's Interest
ing talk, the Boy Scouts will again
present a colorful demonstration, and
the booths will be open for public
Inspection.
So that the entire program may
be enjoyed by all who attend, a pub
lic address system has been installed
In the armory through the courtesy
of Prultt's Melody Shop.
At the Community Chest organi
zation meeting last night In the au
ditorium of the Jackson county
courthouse, attended by approxima
tely one hundred public spirited
men and women, plans were per
fected for the actual solicitation of
chest funds when the campaign
opens In Medford Wednesday, No
vember 7th. At this meeting the
workers vn organized into five
groups, each one under the com
man of a captain and two lieuten
ants, and designated by a distinctive
color. The solicitors were given com
plete Information by Manager Frank
Hull, and "General" M. N. Hogan,
head of the Community Chest
"Field Force."
The five groups will begin their
coverage of this city and suburban
districts next Wednesday morning.

Raymond Driver Is captaining the
new aggregation, who will play a
tournament Sunday with the group
known as tho "amentcs," who were
lead to victory over tho heavyweights
last week by Geno Thorndlke, but
who will be captained Sunday by
Ward Beeney. Driver has put up a
trophy to tho winners of the event,
which Is knokn as the "Scotch ' four
some challenge trophy."
Although thethin men, who term
ed themselves as "bralntrusters," are
confident of a win over their pygmy
rivals, they will be up against stiff

bor strike at tho Oregon worsted mill
here, ended today after C. W. Hope
of Seattle, federal labor conclllntor,
had obtained agreements from union
representatives and employers cov
ering disputed points. About 72.1
persons are employed at the -mill
which has been operating on a re
stricted basis since the national tex
tile strike was settled.
The mill agreed, under arbitration
terms, to reinstate 75 workers from
a list of 10fl who had been laid off.
There will bo no descrlml nation in
employment as between union and
non-union workers, or strikers and
non-strikers.
