Volcanic national parks during this
winter, according to Information given
out this week.
Senator Hiram Johnson of Cali
fornia has stated that he will per
sonally present this matter to Secre
tary Ickes. and Senator McNary of
Oregon has pledged his cooperation
in the matter.
According to the fourth annual
convention of the Wonderland aas-v
elation held at Medford earlier In
the month, funds for this work wars
removed from the park service after
they had successfully proved that !t
waa more economical to keep the
snow off the highways all winter
than to wait until spring after ice
had formed.
Communities near the parks also
lose the opportunity for snow sport
development and the public, general
ly, loses the pleasure of visiting the
parks during the winter.
