Mltzt came back Into the sunlight
early today from the deptha of a
limestone cave, after a band of 70
farmers had worked for days to ex
tricate her.
Missing since last Wednesday, the
plight of Mltzl, a fox hound owned
by Theodore Welsenberger, a farmer,
was discovered Saturday. From then
until last night a little band of farm
ers worked diligently with picks,
drills and dynamite, to give Mltzl
back her freedom.
Early today Mltzl, feeble and worn,
but with a friendly tall-wagging greet
ing, squeezed out of the limestone
prison.
She was given copious quantities
of food and water by her delighted
master. She slept, awakened, and
showed no Ill-effects.
Mltzl apparently chased some other
animal Into the cave and fell Into
the cavern after squirming through
an opening too amall to permit ent
rance of a human being.
Woman Hunter' Out for Season
BARNESVILLE, O (UP) Many a
squirrel hereabouts has a woman to
thank that he may live through the
squirrel season, Just opened in Ohio.
Miss Lena Murphy, who killed 39
squirrels last season and 38 the year
before. Is convalescing from an ap
pendectomy and can't hunt this year.
