Smokehouse alleys when the Marln
ofta won two out of three from Camp
1747 CCC. Patton led the heavy fil
ing for the Marinoff quintet, rolling
200, 210 and 216 for a total of 625
pins for the evening a stellar score
on anybody's alley.
The City league schedule pits the
Eagles and Post Office teams tonight
and there will be tournament bowl
ing each Monday, Tuesday and Friday
night until December 3 when the
schedule ends.

Harry McMahon. president of the
Rogue Valley Golf club, forged Into
the seml-tlnals of the P. A. T. tour
nament Sunday by defeating R. B.
Hammond one up and one to go. Mc
Mahon returned from an auto trip to
8sn Francisco early Sunday morning.
In time to take on Hammond for the
crucial quarter-final match. Tired
from an all night drive, the club
president nevertheless shot golf which
hung close to his handicap. The
match was hard and close. Both con
testants carded an 84.
Leland Clark, another contender
who Is making strong bid for the
cup. also climbed Into the semi-finals
yesterday when he defeated R. D.
Bemon, 1 up on the 18th. Clark and
Bemon also used the same number of
strokes on the last hole. In another
gruelling match. The winner ahot
elos, to his handicap. Clark defeated
strong contender when he eliminat
ed Semon. who shot ronsl.itant golf
up until the quarter-finals of the
tourney.
McMahon will be paired with Wal
ter Laverette and Clark win meet H.
A. Botu in the semi-final bracket, In
two matches scheduled to bring to
gether the strongest qusrtet of golf
fcra In the club. The tournament has
been tmderway for the past sli weeks
and has brought to light the best out
of more than 100 contestsnts.
Leverette has shown up brilliantly
In the field, and Is said to be the
strongest contender for the title. Mc
Mahon Is resting up from his quick
trip south, where he attended a foot
ball game, and will meet Leverette
this week, at a time to be arranged
by the contestants.

at 8:30 o'clock on Saturday nights,

chamber of commerce.
Merchants have remained at their
stores until 3 o'clock Saturday nights
for ths past several weeks, to accom
modate additional business stimulat
ed during ths fruit season. Eight
thirty Is the closing time maintained
