On Sale Tomorrow Two new series
of national park stamps, the four
cent and the eight cent, representing
Mesa Grande national park and Zion
national park, respectively, will go on
eale tomorrow at the Medford post
office. It wns announced Saturday by
Postmaster Frank DeSouza.

Every family of Jackson county
should be Interested In the all day
school for parents to be held In the
courthouse auditorium, October 19.
This school waa scheduled for Octo
ber 16, but because of the district
conference of Parent-Teacher associ
ations to be held in Grants pass on
that date, the school for parent has
been postponed to Friday, October
19.
Misa Flora Thurston, an educator
of national prominence, will be the
guest speaker at both morning and
afternoon sessions. M!sa Thurston
until recently executive secretary of
the National Council of Parent Ed
ucation, New York City, has been
recently added to the home eco
nomics staff at the Oregon State
college for a period of one year a
acting professor of child develop
ment and parent education to re
place Mrs. Sara W. Prentiss who ls
on leave of absence.
Few people could lead such a school
more ably than Miss Thurston, who
has had wide experience In the field
of parent education work, and wa
a member of the county and stnti
extension staff of Cornell university
New York, for several years. Miss
Thurston Is a graduate of Colum
bia university and recently was
granted a two year fellowship at
Columbia for child development re
search under the National Research
Council. She ls now working only
part-time while completing this
study for an advanced degree.
