Chorus met for practice and dis
cussion of the year's plans at the
county court house auditorium yes
terday morning. Mrs. Esther Church
Leake Is the director and Miss Mary
Chambers the accompanist. Numbers
are being prepared for the county
teachers' Institute which meets In
the local high school October IP.
The members of the chorus are
also hostesses at tea on the same
date, honoring the new teachers and
the new officers.
This Is one of the worth while
activities In musical circles, giving
those Interested an opportunity to
sing together and to become ac
quainted with a beautiful and edu
cational repertory of choral music.
The concert last spring In which
the teachers presented the little
henrd but most fascinating music
of Edward Orlcg Is atlll remembered,
and the announcement of this yunr'e
public recltnla will be anticipated by
those who are music minded.

The first meeting of the Post Del'
phi an club for the season of 1934-
35, will be held at the home of Mrs
Olen Fabrick, 108 Crater Lake avenue
i Thursday, October 11. A cafeteria
luncheon will be served at 13 o'clock
promptly, following which there will
be a short business meeting. Plans
for the year's work will be outlined
by the new president, Mrs. Laura
West.
A very Interesting program for the
year has been arranged by the com
mittee. Including travel talks, the
study of literature, drama, poetry,
archeology, modern China, Russia,
Germany and Poland, Indian verse
and pottery, and book reviews on
many Interesting subjects.
There will also be several "Morning
Musics lea" and plays given during
the season.
The program for the meeting on
Thursday afternoon will begin at 3
o'clock. Mrs. Lyle Wilcox will give
an account of a trip to Oermany and
Oberammergau.
A comedy-drama from the pen of
Miss Helen Norrls, entitled "Juliet
Up-to-Date" will be given, with the

With the large gymnasium con
verted Into a spacious living room,
66 persona enjoyed the open house
program presented Friday evening at
the Washington school, under the
sponsorship of the P.-T. A.
A group of entertainers from the
Civilian Conservation corps, under the
direction of Cell an Ufford, presented
several Interesting numbers. Old
fashioned games were enjoyed, and
refreshment were served at attrac
tively arranged tables, with four per
sona seated at each.
The yearly program and activities
of the association, printed in book
form, were distributed to each par
ent. All expressed their Interest la
the special address, musical numbers
and other activities planned for the
coming year.

at the studio of their teacher on
Tuesday evening and organized a club
to be known as "The Junior Musicians,"
This group of younger studentB

Plan Garden Club
The Medford Garde? club will hold
Its annual autumn exhibition of
flowers In the lobby of the Medford
Hotel Tuesday and Wednesday of
this week. There will be no classi
fication or awards but each member
of the club Is expected to furnish
an arrangement of flowers from his
garden.
A cordial Invitation Is extended to
everyone to exhibit. The flower show

of the Drs. Carlow. 26 Laurel street,
on Thursday evening. October 4, In
honor of the J. E. Judy family, who
are scon to depart for Eugene to live.
At the choir practice the same
evening, a handkerchief shower was
tendered Mies Helen Judy, who has
been a faithful member of the choir
for a long time. The Judy family is
moving to Eugene to be near the uni
versity that their daughter might at
tend. A company of about eighty people
assembled for the social and an im
promptu program was carried out. in
cluding guessing games, a reading by.

Baptist ladles' quartet, soprano solo
by Miss Helen Judy, accordion selec
tions by Mrs. Merle Davis Watson of
Grants Pass, who was visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis

the Judy family. Coffee and cake
were served by a committee, which
brought to a close a very pleasant
evening.
