by clouting his 48th home run of the

the 10 hit Los Angeles attack In the

The Boston Braves clinched fourth
place in the National and a share of
the world series proceeds by beating
me Phillies twice. 4-3 and 6-4. while
the Cuba belted Pittsburgh over
twice. 8-3 and 7-5. The Athletics,

fifth when they split a twin bill with
the Red Sox. winning 4-3 after losing
fl-0. Rogera Hornaby'a Browns, who

3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
Salt, pepper, mustard
Toast or crackera
Cut the cheese Into small pieces.
Beat the eggs slightly, add all re
maining ingredients, seasoning to

Frozen Salad
1 package (8 ob. cream cheeso
H cup cooked aalad dressing
1 cup shredded pineapple
I cup cream, whipped
green pepper, diced
'4 cup nuta, chopped
H cup maraschino cherries
Mush the cream cheese and blend
with salad dressing; add chopped
fruit, nuts and pepper. Fold in cream
and turn Into freezing tray. Serve ;
on lettuce.
Chicken Rolls I
9 cup flaked chicken (uae Juice j
for gravy) j
Biscuit dough
Roll biscuit dough to one-half Inch :
thickness, spread with butter and i
sprinkle the flaked chicken over it. i
then roll up and cut tn crosswise
slices about one and one-half Inch
-wide. Bake In pan In usual manner.
Meanwhile make gravy of the atock
or Julre (canned chicken may be
used for this dish) and serve over
the hot chicken rolls.
Chopped Olive Sandwiches
TTse dark bread and spread with
chopped olives mixed with thousand
Island dreslng.
Ment Pinner Salad
!4 pound boiled ham
psund chicken (or veal) meat
pound boiled tongue
1 cup d'.ccd celery
8 eg(s. hsrd-bolled
1 head lettuce
Mayonnnl.se or Thousand Island
Dressing.
Line the larwe bowl with crtsp
lettuce leaves. Shred the meats and
mix with the celery and dressing.
Quarter the eggs, adding some to
the meat mixture and reserving the
others for garnishing the whole.
Sprinkle with paprika and a little
chopped parsley.

Crushed pineapple
Use your favorite recipe of Ice
cream and have It ready In the re
frigerator. Plain crushed pineapple
or a pineapple conserve la used lor
the topping.

3 cups mixed fruit
1 lemon (Juice)
1 orange (Juice)
1 quart ginger ale
Cut the frulta Into small pieces.
Add the fruit Jutcea and place In
serving glasses. When ready to serve,
add cracked Ice and ginger ale.

Wieners same number as biscuits
Roll the bisculta rather thin, place
wiener between two, which have
been brushed with butter, and press
edgea together. Bake In usual man
ner and serve immediately.
Combination Salad
Use only tomatcea (fresh), cucum
bers and asparague. Place three eiices
of tomato on the salad plate and
on them lay the strips of cucumber
(cut lengthwise in narrow pieces)
and asparagus. Sprinkle lightly with
salt and eerve with mayonnaise or
French dressing.
