A. C. Hubbard, pioneer and widely
known business man of this city, was
today named by County Judge Earl
B. Day as third member of the budget
committee. Mr. Hubbard accepted
the appointment, after he was able
to arrange his personal affairs so he
could serve.
The budget committee will be com
posed of W. J. Freeman of Central
Point, selected by Commissioner R. E.
Nealon; State Senator George W
Dunn of Ashland, selected by Com
missioner Ralph S. Billings, and Hub
bard, selected by County Judge Day.
All the appointed members of the
budget committee are well known,
and through long residence and ex
perience, are thoroughly conversant
with all Jackson county values, con
ditions, and tax problems. Hubbard
ls well acquainted with farm, orchard
snd business conditions. Freeman
the same, and Senator Dunn is a
former county Judge.
The county court sits with the
three appointees as the budget com
mittee. First session of the budget com
mittee will be held next week, date
as yet undetermined.
Under Oregon law, the budget must
be completed by November 1, after
which a public hearing will be called
for discussion of the budget.
