thur DeH&ven, 63, a native of Kansas,
arrested this morning by city police
on charges of reckless driving, was
fined $25 in city court this morning

Report Theft Woodson Smith,

analyser was stolen from the shop's
car last night in front of a residence

Masons Meet Tonight After a two
month's vacation, the Masonic lodge

Bennett left by train for Eugene this

with her husband, who Is with the
Southern pacific lines, for the past
10 days. She expects to return after
a short time.
Fishing Improving Lewis Ulrlch re
ports that steelhead fishing in the
Rogue Is showing great Improvement
over the past few days, stating that
last week-end he landed four large
ones at Hardy riffle. The best fishing
seems to be near the vicinity of Dodge
bridge, he said.

Jack Hemstreet Is leaving here to
morrow by motor for Portland, where
he will join his uncle, Charles Hem-
street, and travel east to Toronto
Ontario, then to Eau Claire, Wis.,
where they will visit Jack Hcmstreet's
sister, Mra. M. Logan,
Before returning to the Pacific
coast, the two men will visit the
world's fair at Chicago, and spend
some time In Detroit, their former
home. They plan to be gone about
sixty days.

persons from having bodyguards and
prohibiting the presence of armed
men, except policemen end deputy
sheriffs, at the polls on election day.
The first was aimed directly at
Long, who Is constantly protected by
bodyguards while in New Orleans.
As the full military strength of the
state descended on New Orleans, bar.
racks on the edge of" the city with
provisions for 800 men, were over
