A district OCC swimming tourna
ment will be held Monday, Labor
Day, at the Twin Plunge in Ash
land with 130 atar athlete of the
Medford district taking part.
The swimming meet wa announced

strong, dlatrlct commander. The meot
It a part of the extensive athletic
program being carried on In the dis
trict. Each of the 30 oompaniea In the
dlatrlct will be permitted to enter
five swimmers and one diver in the
tournament. Preliminary event will
begin Monday morning a 10 o'clock
with the finals In all event begin
ning at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

Major Armstrong will award a silver
trophy to the winning team.

The annual school for citizen applt
cants, conducted by the Daughters of
the American Revolution, will re
open Saturday, September 1, at 7:30
p. m., at the city hall, Fourth and
Central streets. All who are inter
ested are welcome to attend. There
will be no charge for attendance and
the chapter will furnish necessary
materials.
