The accident occurred about 1 :00
o'clock In the morning, at the sharp
corner while en route to Med ford
from Jacksonville. Photogrnphs of
the wrecked car In the field adjoin
ing the road, were taken yesterday,
for use In the Investigation by the
authorities, It is held that Davis
was traveling at too high a speed to
make the turn.
The district attorney expects to In
terview the attending physicians and
hospital attendants In an effort to
disclose all the facts In the case.

The second of the Med ford Rotary
club's International service programs
waa featured at today's luncheon
meeting at the Hotel Mcdford with
"Australia" as the subject. Moving
pictures of Australia's scenery, Indus,
tries and wild life were shown by
Horace Bromley with Introductory re
marks by Herb Grey, who arranged
the program. The pictures were
shown through the courtesy of A. H
O'Conner, manager of the Australian
National Travel association of San
Francisco and the Matron Navigation
company, also of the bay city.
Particularly Interesting were the
Australian beach, scenes with crack
life-saving units In exhibition maneu
vers, Australia's unique bird and
animal life, from kaiiRaroos to koala
bears, were shown, along with vast
sheep herds on the great ranches in
the far-away dominion.
County Judge Earl Day presided at
today's meeting, generously attended
by Rotarlans and guests. Ward Ham
mond. Earle Voorhles, Br., Enrle Voor
hles, Jr., and Noble Stanton of Grant
Pass were visiting Rotarlans In at

great Intensity, threatening the sub
station plant and other buildings,
roared on both side of the Crater
Lake highway, compelled week end
travellers to lake resorts, In some In
stances to turn back, and brought all
available citizens, power company

members of the CCC to battle the
flames.
The fire leaped Rogue river near
the concrete bridge and gave the
hamlet of Prospect a scare. A spot
fire started, but before It could
spread was brought under control.
Residents Flee Cabins
A number of people residing In
cabins moved out with their posses
sions. Between the river and Pros
pect, on the west side of the road,
there Is a Jungle of underbrush. It
was feared that once the fire gained
headway It would spread to the Pros
