The second annual picnic of the
Owen-Oregon Lumber company, spon
sored by the 4-L local organization,
will be held Labor day at the Elks
picnic grounds. A day of festivity,
with numerous races and contests for
men. women and children Is to be
held. A large number of first and sec
ond prizes contributed by merchants
are to be given.
At 10:30 in the morning, a men's
baseball game la scheduled, between
the camp at Butte Falls and the plan
ing mill. There will be a tug of war
between the camp men and the saw
mill employes.
The picnic lunch will be at noon,
and following, will be races of all
kinds. For the lunch, the company
will furnish Ice cream, coffee, sugar
and cream. Each family Is to bring a
basket lunch.

The Welfare exchange In the city
hall will open for business Tuesday
morning, it was announced Saturday,
and Is to remain open Wednesday and
Thursday from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m.
The exchange work Is being carried
on as an SERA project, and those In

ist and Furrier, will open shop on or
about Sept. 1st, at 20 S. Central.

grand larceny.
