Verne Shangle are anxiously awaiting !
the selection of the outstanding baby
picture In the Sears-Roebuck contest
being held at A Century of Progress
exposition In Chicago for the photo
of their daughter, Carolyn Ruth, taken
by Mr. Shangle, has been selected to
represent Oregon. It is among the
49 from which the 10 prize winning
pictures will be taken. Photos are
entered from all states, possessions
and Canada. Word of Carolyn Ruth's
picture being among those chosen was
received by Mr. Shangle yesterday
from Jlmmle Kuehnle of . Medford,
who Is visiting the fair.

Mrs. I'lrlch Returns Mrs. Alice
Ulrlch of Jacksonville returned to
day on the Shasta from a three
months' visit in Santa Cruz with her
brother, Roy Ulrlch and family.

Plans Convention T. L. Stanley of
Yreka. Cal., general manager of the
Shasta Cascade Wonderland associa
tion, Is In Medford today making
plans for the convention of the asso
ciation to be held here in October.
Mr. Stanley also attended the Jack
son County Chamber of Commerce
banquet last evening here.

P. Moore and son, Mrs, Chester Hub

leaving this evening by motor for
Chicago, where they will attend the

Sunday at the Craterian theater.

dignity that lifts her to the high
peak of dramatic art.

Work schedules of SEtA projects in
Jackson county will be resumed on
Tuesday It was announced today, and
it Is understood that all projects will
continue for at least two more, weeks,
according to officials In charge.
In the SERA work, three major pro
jects are now underway in Ashland,
and also three In Medford.
