on optimism In the community or
the necessity of radiating optimism
to combat the spread of a pessimistic
viewpoint, at the regular bi-monthly
meeting of the Toastmaster'a club at
the Hotel Holland Monday night.

tions for the coming fall had assigned
last night's meeting to the discussion
of this subject. Each member of the
club gave short talk relating to
some phase of the fall outlook.

them every day. The thing for all
good citizens who really want to see

westerly direction. The field now Is
completely level.
SERA workmen put In approximate
ly 45.000 cubic yards of dirt, out down
the hump on the west end eight feet
and raised the sunken east portion
correspondingly.
The playing field has been length
ened nearly AO feet by the work, and
presents a smooth, even, level surface.
Once settled by rains and weather, it
will be In perfect condition for the
opening of the gridiron season.
Adjacent to the foot b si field, on
the west end of the gridiron, a field
chat may be uaed for indoor haseball
snd a general playground 'or girls'
