Remission by the governor yester
day, of a fine of B00 Imposed for
liquor violation In 1039, will enable
I.uka Jennings, Beagle district farmer,
to procure a federal farm loan. The
fine stood aa a Judgment against Jen
nlngs' property, and blocked hla pro
curing federal farm loan, for which
he had applied, according to the dla
trlct attorneys office.
. The remission of the fine waa rec
ommended by the circuit court Judge,
th county court, and the dlatrlct at
torneys office, and waa th baal of
the chief executives action. Jen
nings alao served a Jail term. Th
loan provide , for tax encumbrance
payment.

final shipment of cannery Bartlett.
Up to last night, 849 cara of Bartletta
had been dispatched to the canneries,
and ten cars of packed Bartletta have
been shipped East. Most of the packed
Bartletta have been placed In storage
to await better market conditions
both domestic and foreign. Court
Hall estimate that 80 per cent of
th Bartlett crop went to the csn
nerlea at prices ranging from 32.60
to 135 per ton.
Packera. growera and fruit authori
ties have estimated that th returns
from Bartletta will approximate close
to 1600.000. Thla will enable the
grower to pay off federal funds ad
vanced for financing the crop. The
loans aggregated approximately 500,
000, It Is estimated.
According to Horticulturist Wilcox
all varletlea of pear are In good con
dition, of excellent size and grade,
and free from blemishes and worm.

Dleu were sentenced and entered
state prison a year ago next Thurs
day. Fehl was sentenced a year ago

Klamath county Jury returned a ver
diet ct guilty against htm in 12 min
utes. Former Sheriff Gordon L.
8chermerhorn, sentenced to thre
three yeara and who entered prison
three weeks ago with promlae of a

The paroles are granted upon ap
plication of the prisoners and must
have the recommendation of the een
