We would like to call the attention
of the general public to the fact that
no other organization or charitable
Investment has In the past or will.
In the future, bring such huge divi

to compare with the rehabilitation
service of the D. A. V.
Therefore, when you buy a ticket
to a D. A. V. dance or a forget-me-not
flower on Armlstlc day, besides
the direct relief and hospitalization
for disabled veterans, you are bring

Increased benefits to disabled men
many times over. We feel that thts
service Is deserving of the support
of the general public and that Indi
rectly the community Is greatly benefited.

RJEaFLSVIUJf. Ps. (tTP) A new
set of ringing rocks, made famous
throughout Pennsylvania because of
their vibrant qualities, have been
found near this qalnt historical town. :
With the aid of a small metal ham
mer, a clear ringing, as from a bell,
can be mads to emlnato from the
rocks. However all the rocks In
the area, which covers several
hundred square feet, do not ring
Scientists believe that the rock must 1
be partially suspended In order to
give off the bell-like sounds.
One reason for the presence of the
ringing rocks was attributed by Sam- 1
uel G. Gordon, associate curator of
the department of mineralogy at the
academy of natural sciences, Phila
delphia, to volcanic activity 100 mil
lion years ago during the time of the
dinosaurs,
Qordon said they were not placed
there by volcanic eruption, as was
often believed, but were exposed when
the soil was washed away during the
millions of years.
The rocks are of the d tabes, or
trap rock class, and is one of three
types of rock that ring. The other
two ara stalactites found In caves
and phonolite. a volcanic rock found
in the western part of the country.
