Holman stated that they have funds
from various sources which he had
not been able to deposit at Interest
and so took out a draft on the federal
reserve bank. The law provides the
treasurer should deposit funds in sol

ed president of Willamette univer
sity today In Salem, Ore., came to
the University of Southern Call for

etics. A few years later he was chosen

assistant to the president. He also
was chaplain of the university. '
Born In Rock Run, Ohio, in 1893,
he received his A. B, degree from
Oberlln college In 1916. Among other
degree ha holds are M. A.. Ober
lln, 1916; S. T. D Boston univer
sity, 1917; D. D., College of the Pac
ific, 1925; LL. D., California Christ
ian college, 1933.
Dr. Baxter, who was awarded a
