At a special meeting of the Po-
mona Orange at Central Point July '
16, Oeorge A. Pal mi ter. past state I
Orange master of Oregon, explained J
this co-operative, which has been in !
successful operation ln Washington!
for several years. Thirty-three sta- j
tlons have been in operation In east
em Washington, doing a business of !
more than 92,000,000. Contracts have j
now been secured for all of Wash
ington state, Oregon and Idaho and
Orange members are expected to
make a great saving on their gas
and oil bills.
There Is, however, another co-operative
ln the making, recently or-'
ganlzed by the Pacific Supply Co.,
which Is also soliciting business from
farmera and orchard men. This Is a
new concern, not yet established,
while the Orange gas and oil co
operative has been doing successful
business for several years. All Oran
gers are urged to co-operate with
their organlaztlon, as the greater the
sale the lower per cent the overhead,
and consequently the greater the
profit.
This matter will be taken up at
the meeting at Applegate next Sat
urday and all Grangers are urged to
be present and learn all about this
membership co-operative which many
have been looking for and which has
heen In successful operation for a
period of years. This Is not a stock
co-operative.
Pomona lecturer, Mru. Susie Maust,
requests the attendance of every sub-,
ordinate Orange lecturer, as she plans
to organize a lecturers' club at this
meeting, ln accord with plans made
by the new state Orange lecturer,
Mrs. Alice Ooff. Will all masters
kindly notify their lecturers.
At the special meeting July 16,
Mrs. Maxist presided over an interest
ing lecture hour, which included two
solos, with appropriate costume set
ting, by Mrs. Doris Richardson Nea
lon, "The Old Spinning Wheel" and
"Believe Me, If All Those Endearing
Young Charms." Assembly singing
and suggestions for Pomona lecture
work also were very Interesting.
Everyone bring a basket of lunch
and enjoy the day at Applegate Sat
