Monday, Tuesday and Friday of each
week the kitchen will be open In Ash
land, while on Wednesday equipment
will be transferred to Talent and on
Thursday to Bellvlew.
Persona eligible In these districts
4f are notified to report to their kitchen
to receive appointment, and no food
stuffs should, be taken to a kitchen
previously.
Central Point, Eagle Point, ' Roxy
Ann and Phoenix eases who are
eligible should report to the Med ford
armory, as operation of their kitchen
will start Thursday, July 26. Next
Wednesday, cases from Jacksonville.
Applegste end Griffin creek who have
previously made arrangement will be
handled In Medford.
Jackson county relief committee
has notified families of eligibility
through the malt, and asks those who
are unable to participate to so advise
the committee.

GOLD HILL. July 20. (6pl.) Mr.
and Mrs. Richard Gray of Medford
and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Parker of
this city spent the week end at Ore
gon Caves.
Mrs. Milton Turner and son, Mil
ton Jr., returned to Salem Wednesday
after spending several weeks here with
her sister, Mrs. John Hayes, and her
father, George Smith.
Mlsg Zelda Smith, who underwent
a major operation at Sacred Heart
hospital July 3, returned to her home

Mrs. Dora Hammersley and chil
dren. Bill and Jean, left Sunday for
McLeod, where they will work in the

Mr. and Mrs. Kloyd Lanes and
daughter, Ruth, left Tuesday on a
camping trip to Dead Indian.
Mayfield family of Sams Valley has
rented the Parker tenant house and
expects to move In by the last of the
week.
Jack Martin returned Thursday
from Portland, where he has been
visiting for the last fe? weeks with
his grandmother, Mrs, Battle Bee
man. Vaughn Quackenbusn and Nor
man Bailey were business visitors in
Medford Tuesday.
The Oiney Eddlngton family has
movetf into the large tenant house
of Mrs. Nettie Reed, recently vacated
by the R. E. Blankenship family.
Mrs, Pearl Gindl underwent a goi
ter operation at St. Vtncent'at hos
pital in Portland Tuesday, She is
reported as doing nlceiy.
The Ladies' Aid met Thusrday af
ternoon at the church to work on a
quilt.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Just south of town burned to the
ground early Thusrday morning. The
fire started from the flue.
Yvonne Quackenbusn entertained
at a surprise birthday party for Al
thea Betts, Monday. The afternoon
was spent pitying games and all en
joyed the afternoon.
COPCO PICNIC AT
LAKET01D
The annual picnic of the Cope em
ployes club, the "Copco Forum" will
take place tomorrow at Lake o' the
Woods. An interesting program of
sports and recreation has been ar
ranged for the occasion and wili in
clude races and various athletic
events, boating, swimming, horseshoes
and trapshootlrig, as well as the an
nual kat-ball game. There also will
be a ball game for the kiddies and
a hammer-throwing contest for the
ladies.
The program will be concluded with
a gala dance in the resort pavilion
rtth music by a good orchestra.
A large number of employes and
their families and friends, from va
rious parts of the Copco system plan
to attend the picnic tomorrow and
many will spend the entire week-end
at the lake, returning Sunday evening.

vorce suit was filed that a reconcilia
tion between Fairbanks and Mary
Pickford, his divorced wife, was im
minent. Asked recently if reports that she
would marry Fairbanks were true,
dainty Lady Ashley replied;
"That is not for me to say, X know
nothing sbout it."
Benita Hume, Fairbanks leading
lady in his film work here, has fre
quently accompanied htm and Lady
Ashley to parties and other affairs
here.
Lord Ashley. S3, and heir to the
ninth Earl of Shaftsbury, married in
1027 against his family" wishes. He
and Lady Ashlpy. the former Sylvia
Hswkes, lived together less than a
year.
Lady Ashley has been in succession
a mannequin, chorus girl and stage
star.
