gainst the sheriffs of Klamath and
Jackson count;, for 93500 damages
for alleged false Imprisonment con
tloued In circuit court today before
Judge Harry D. Norton, and was ex
pected to be In the hands of a jury
composed of eight men and four
women late today,
A special venire, composed of Chea
ter Hubbard, Richard Payne, I. Ross
Kline, Mrs. Louise E. Janney and
Bather Van Dyke was drawn for the
case.
Bherlff Ol mac held .and Deputy Phil
H. Stansbury were on the stand this
morning and testified to routine de
tails of the arrest of Klnkads last
February. The county officials testi
fied that Klnkade was arrested on
a felony warrant Issued by Klamath
county and that they had no knowl
edge of the case, beyond that.
Evidence In the case showed that
Klnknde is the futher of five children,
and the charge against him was non
support. A divorce action was also
Instituted agAlnst him.
A motion of the defense for a non
suit was denied by the court yester
day, upon conclusion of the plaintiff's
ease.
The sheriffs are represented by Dis
trict Attorney T. R. Olllenwater of
Xlamath county and District Attorney
Oeorge A. Codding of Jackson county.
The plaintiff Is represented by At
torney M. O. Wllklns of this city.

North Central, la now open under the
name of Med ford stationery Store, It
was announced this morning by Z.
N. Age of Eugene, who has pur
chased the store from A. H. Miller,
and will devote his personal atten
tion to Its management.
Mr. Agee stated the detail of the
new firm's personnel Is not complete.

least temporarily with the store.
The new manager has had experi
ence for the past 25 years in sta
tionery and paper business, both
wholesale and retail. He was form
erly manager of the Eugene branch
of Zellerbach Paper Co., and la at
present a representative of the Carter
Rice Co. of Portland. Mr. Agse Is
experienced In both Inside work and
as traveling salesman, and has sold
office equipment In a Roseburg firm.
There will be some Improvements
made In the store, Mr. Agee said,
snd a few lines of merchandise will
be added.
F, J. Moffatt, M. D.. who recently
opened offices In the Medford build
ing, at room 410, has received during
the past two weeks, some of the most
modern snd complete radiology equip
ment available. Its Installation In
the Medford building makes this city
a center for Roentgen diagnosis and
therapy, skin diseases and the special
pelvic radiation. In which Dr. Moffatt
specializes.
Local physicians snd surgeon will
be grestly benefitted by the new
equipment, as It Is the only complete
st In southern Oregon, snd Includes
everything necessary In the prsctlce
of radiology.
Dr. Moffatt brought much of the
equipment with, him from the east,
where he has been doing poat-gvadu-ate
work for the past few years, and
purchased the remainder for the f
flces here.

year old Mickey Baehr's favorite
pastime la smoking his grandfather's
corncob pipe which li plenty strong.
The pipe prodigy, whose parents live
on Pittsburg's north side, comes from
a long line of smokers.
On the feminine side, his great
grandmother aged 103 still smokes
regularly.

said Mickey learned to fc-noke by
soothing his gums on ths corncob
while the grandfather nodtlrd In his
chair. He had formed the habit be
fore he was found out.
"If you want to see him raise a
rumpus," said the father, "Just iy to
take the pipe away from him.
