Led by the heavy stick of Cliff Mc
Lean, the Ashland Eagles yesterday
took the Jacksonville Miners by the
spacious margin of 33-11 on the
Llthla City diamond. The airport
field, which slopes toward second and
third base and Is flanked by a rough
alfalfa field Just bark of Infield,
threw the Miners so haywire that
errors accounted for more than half
the Eagle tallies.
McLean, who covered ahortstop for
the Eagles, led the dsy with five hits
In seven trips to bat, gathering two
trlplea and a double, while Coffman,
for the Miners took two hits In three
times at bat to load the meager Miner
hitting. Eaglea collected as hits off
Frank Runt, Bob Smith and Ben
Coffman, while Hardy surrendered
but nine clouts. Many hits of the
day, however, were pop-up fly balls

easy outs on a good diamond, accord
