woman, who said she had - kept
her 88-year-old mother'a dlemembered
body hidden more than two yeara to
collect a civil war pension, is being
held today by authortttea.
Mrs. Myrtle Lattlmer, about 85. di
rected Sheriff O. E. Carman nnd other
officer to the body, part of which
had been cremated tn a kitchen
stove, after Postmaster W. L. Kauff-
man had demanded to see the woman
to whom the ,140 monthly pension
check hd been Issued.
Mrs. Lattlmer said her mother, Mra.
Marietta Blahop, had died a natural
death In January, 1933. She aald she
did not disturb the body from Its bed
for several months, but flnslly de
cided to dispose of It. The upper
psrt was cremated, aha aald, while
the other waa placed In a trunk at
the home.
No chargea have been filed.

highest number of votes and were
